So, this would probably be about a 1925 gun. Jwmtx: Model 39's made between 1921 and 1925 had no serial number prefix. BLACKPOWDERX represents the months. I would also assume that this code will remain constant for the months. The year code begins with "E," when Remington production began, and continues sequentially. Using the barrel info provided by Scorpiusb, a code of "RL" should mean the rifle was made in November 2017.
